Presence: Songwriting "Words For You" Part 2

Listen to “Words For You”

Lyrics:

I had a lot of words for you -

Yet I’m just waiting,

For you to say yes

Get present with me…

Let’s live in ecstasy…

Are you my addiction?

Or am I just missin’?

I had a lot of words for you -

Yet I’m just waiting,

For you to say yes

It’s pretty wild how so few words can be imbued with so many layers of meaning.

The song meaning evolved as I listened further and embodied my healing and I am going to go through each portion of the song one by one in a 2 part series…

Let’s talk about part 2, it’s loaded…

Get present with me…

Let’s live in ecstasy…

Are you my addiction?

Or am I just missin’?

I have looked back and forth - I have looked to the past, the future, people, places, things - everywhere in between to find happiness, joy, peace, calm, love…. seeking, looking outward.

These lines are the reminder to pause looking outward and go inward. Because inside, here and now, there is so much beauty unfolding…there is so much to love, to be blessed with and to be grateful for.

We stop feeling the lack because we aren’t look at what is no longer here or way before us that we can’t control.

We feel the ecstasy - the stillness of now. The power of presence, the power of now is it is full, it is here, it is whole.

Like a prayer I ask you to get present with me, I ask you to come along and live in the ecstasy of here and now…

Now in context, this song was a reflection of wanting a man I wanted to be with, to come with me on this journey of presence.

However, the next lines bring us back, to the awareness that when I long for you - you, who is outside of me - I am reminded that I am giving away my power.

I have noticed that in breaking addictive patterns - I get out of the ecstasy, the presence of what life is presenting me with now, with what is serving me now, and start looking to the external to fill the empty space….

This is an ode to that longing feeling.

It is so normal as humans to be co-dependent, to desire fulfilling relationships, to want so fully. It is a fine tuned balance however when we start giving our power away to a person, place or thing. Because we start saying to ourselves - I can’t be fulfilled until I have you - I have this - I have that. And so I started reflecting…

Is this relationship an addiction?

Am I missing something in myself that you haven’t chosen me?

Am I missing something between us that you get and I don’t?

And we circle back around to —- I had a lot of words for you, yet I’m just waiting for you to say yes.

I want to remind. you here and now is so full. Whether the guy chooses you or not - you are not missing anything.

You take your power back when you reflect into - actually I have the power to choose in this present moment - whether I am going to wait for you to align or whether I am going to let this thing go and align with who I am meant to be with now,

There is no right answer - there is no morality in your choice. It is a matter of you knowing that in your presence, you are choosing what you are receiving right now. And if you want to get on a new frequency, just say yes to yourself….

I wholeheartedly believe you get to have all you desire in this life - and we don’t have to attach to any one person, place or thing to still feel whole, full, joyous, excited and soooo much more….

You are the creative healer of your life. And song is the greatest gift I have found to share these feelings….

I am so so so excited to share with you my debut EP “The Underpass” and share all the BTS. And “Words For You” is the first track.

Get hype to hear the rest!!! & continue reading along as we walk along the path of knowing our power and learning so much from all the relationships we encounter in this life…its all happening for us to learn, to grow, to embody presence more and more and more….
